What is Redbubble.com
Redbubble is one of the largest print-on-demand marketplaces, connecting independent artists with customers worldwide.
It provides a platform for artists to monetize their designs by turning them into custom merchandise, ranging from tote bags and throw pillows to clothing.
The Challenge
The adaptive clothing market grows 3-4x faster than traditional fashion. Yet what's available is "limited in design and aesthetic." As one user said: "Wearing sweatpants every day makes me feel like I'm dressing disabled."
People with disabilities are Marvel fans, gamers, anime lovers—they just need magnetic closures instead of buttons.
The Insight
Redbubble: 750K artists × 4.8M designs × every fandom imaginable. We'd already solved personalization at scale.
The unlock? Adaptive clothing's problem wasn't functional—it was emotional.
Positioning Statement
For individuals with disabilities and their loved ones seeking stylish and accessible clothing options, Redbubble's Adaptive is an online marketplace that delivers unique, customizable designs created by independent artists worldwide. This allows people with disabilities to express their individuality and be confident in their clothes, as everyone deserves to feel comfortable and empowered in their fashion choices.
RedBubble Adaptive Logo
The Redbubble Adaptive logo draws inspiration from the Accessible Icon Project, a design activism effort to promote inclusivity. Using this public domain symbol, Redbubble.com reinforces its commitment to creating an accessible and respectful shopping experience for people of all needs and abilities.
The Strategy
Users should shop for Spider-Man first, then adaptive features second. That means making the redouble.com have an UX/UI that seamless incorporates adaptive clothing features first and not hide them from uses.
